Frequently Asked Questions

The yacht sails overnight between islands, so you wake up in a new harbor each morning.

Most riding days are 35–65 km with modest climbs, broken by a long lunch in a fishing village or back on board. Afternoons are for swimming off the stern, walking through an old town, or doing nothing at all. Evenings are dinner with the cook on deck, or a meal ashore.

No hotel changes, no repacking — your cabin stays your cabin for the week.

Within reason, yes.

Each of our four tours has a fixed cycling route that's been planned and tested with the local guides and our customers — that part stays.

Departure dates, the order of stops, shore activities, and rest days are flexible. The captain may also re-sequence harbors during the week based on weather, sea state, or marina availability.

Safety always comes first at Bike and Boat Croatia!

They can always stay on board, and the yacht meets the riders at the next harbor. Meals, swimming, shore time, excursions — all the same.

Non-riders pay the same rate as riders, because the boat charter is the same.

Daily rides range from 25 to 65 km, with modest climbs. Most of our tours are rated 2–3 out of 5 on the activity level scale.

If your group spans a wide range of fitness levels, the Split E-Bike Island Hopping Tour (rated 2/5) is the safest pick — the e-assist evens things out without forcing strong riders to slow down.

We can provide any bike on request — trekking, e-bike, road, or gravel. The cost depends on the route and the model you choose, and we'll quote it as part of your itinerary.

You're also welcome to bring your own. The boat has room.

We re-sequence the itinerary.

The crew and guide know the coast well enough to swap a riding day for a sheltered harbor, a museum visit, or a quiet cove — whatever the wind allows.

Tours have not been cancelled for weather to date.

Across our fleet, the headline charter price typically covers:

  • Yacht hire and accommodation, with linen and towels

  • The full crew and their services

  • Base fuel for around 4 hours of cruising per day (subject to change depending on the vessel)

  • Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, yacht insurance, and cleaning

  • Croatian VAT (13%) — included on most of our boats, though it does vary; your booking agent will confirm what applies to the yacht you've chosen (might not be included on some yachts, inquire upfront)

  • Agency support and organization

The exact line-items vary boat to boat. Your written quote will spell out what's included for the specific yacht you've chosen.

The yacht is the base; most of the catering, taxes, and tipping is priced separately so your group can pick the level that fits.

  • Meals — half-board (breakfast + lunch, sometimes a dinner) typically €500–€650* per person per week; full-board (breakfast, lunch, dinner) €800–€890*. A few boats offer a luxury full-board upgrade.

  • Drinks — pay per consumption from the onboard bar list, or take an all-inclusive package (around €130–€620* per person per week, non-alcoholic to premium).

  • Port, marina, and tourist taxes — typically €1,000–€2,000* for the week, depending on the boat and the route.

  • APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) — only on a small number of premium yachts (currently Barbara and Olimp): around 30% of the charter fee, held for running costs and reconciled at the end.

  • Tips for the crew — not mandatory but customary, 10–15% of the charter fee, given to the captain at the end of the week.

  • Airport transfers, and optional water-sport extras are also separate.

Everything is itemized on your quote — no surprises.
